Terminal Calf Herd Health Protocols

2017 Integrity Beef Herd Health Protocol

The following is a list of minimum procedures or products that must be utilized to be eligible for the Integrity Beef Terminal Program unless stated as optional. Additional products may be used but not in substitution for a listed product below. All calves must be weaned for a minimum of 60 days for the value-added sale on Dec. 6, 2017.


Initial Calf Working - (about 2-3 months of age)

2 Calves must receive two rounds of a product that contains all five components of the Viral Respiratory Complex (IBR, PI3, BRSD, BVD type 1 & 2) prior to shipping. This can be accomplished prior to or during preconditioning.

3 Cows are now required to be vaccinated for both Blackleg and the Viral Respiratory Complex. It is preferred and HIGHLY recommended that the cow herd is vaccinated with a MLV Viral Respiratory. Before implementing this, visit with a livestock consultant, veterinarian or pharmaceutical sales representative of the product you will use.
